Auditions for 2008-2009 Season
to be Held
April 12 & 13 and April 26 & 27
Princeton Girlchoir choristers are selected through individual
auditions and interviews. All girls, regardless of race or religion,
who are entering grades 3-12 are eligible, invited, and encouraged to
audition.
Auditions for the 2008-2009 season will be held at Princeton Day
School on April 12 and 13, and April 26 and 27. (Directions can be
found at www.pds.org,
click on Admissions and then Directions.) Please contact the Girlchoir
office at 609-688-1888 to schedule an audition date. Scheduling of
appointments will begin on February 20th.
Auditions for each choir last approximately 10 minutes. Girls should
come prepared to sing a designated solo (see FAQ). The directors
will talk with each applicant, and will check for voice quality,
range, and the ability to sing in tune. Sight-singing and the ability
to sing in harmony will also be evaluated in the older applicants.
It is recommended that you contact the office early in order to ensure
an appointment time and that you review the additional information in
this section listed under Audition Details, Frequently Asked
Questions, and Helpful Hints. These pages are intended to help both
parents and auditioning students feel comfortable and confident with
the audition process. In addition, please feel free to call the office
with any questions or concerns.
There is a $15 audition fee, which may be paid in cash or by check
made payable to the Princeton Girlchoir. An optional letter of
recommendation from a music teacher may be emailed to the office at auditions@princetongirlchoir.org,
or mailed to Princeton Girlchoir, P.O. Box 145, Princeton, NJ 08542,
Attn: Auditions.
We look forward to meeting you!
