PGC ENSEMBLE

The PGC Ensemble (EN) is comprised of 16 to 20 singers from the Concert Choir who audition for the opportunity to sing in a smaller, select ensemble. These singers are available for “gigs” at holiday time, for weddings, and for other community and cultural events that have space constraints making a smaller number of girls preferable to the 65-voice Concert Choir. Precise tuning, ability to blend, and dedication to rehearsals and performances are a must for these members. The PGC Ensemble has sung for the Present Day Club, for the YWCA “grad” group, for Merrill Lynch holiday parties, and even for the wedding of one of our former PGC members! They perform a widely varied repertoire, such as show tunes, pop tunes, folk songs, spirituals and world music. The group is directed and accompanied by Janet A. Westrick, Artistic Director and Concert Choir Director.

Time commitment for the PGC Ensemble:

  • 2-hour weekly rehearsals on Sundays (2:00 pm to 4:00 pm) at Princeton Day School
  • additional performances as scheduled
  • winter and spring concert
